SANTA BARBARA, CA (10 October, 2005)

Santa Barbara based CHK America has just completed a new colorful and easy-to-use transit system guide to assist passengers of Spokane Transit in Washington state. The announcement was made today by Frederick A. Wood, President & CEO, CHK America.

Spokane Transit’s transportation staff wanted a comprehensive guide that would help residents and visitors alike better understand the service offerings available to them. Spokane Transit’s system has grown over the years to accommodate the suburban developments stretching to the east along the I-90 Corridor, and the Cities of Spokane Valley and Liberty Lake have grown to a point that the traditional local bus services are now augmented by freeway express service developed to serve commuters to the city. The guide includes a complete inventory of service, listing the frequency of service, days and hours of operation and route descriptions for each of Spokane Transit’s 39 fixed-route services.

Also included are a detailed inset map of downtown Spokane and a detailed plan of Spokane Transit’s Downtown Passenger Transit Facility with a list of boarding zones.

Users of the guide will also find a table with attractions, government facilities, medical centers and hospitals, shopping areas, and schools and universities in the Spokane area listed alongside the transit services that will take them there.

“It was a pleasure to work with CHK America to develop a first class system map. Their expertise, talent, patience and responsiveness were apparent throughout the process and appreciated by all of us on the Spokane Transit team. I would not hesitate to recommend CHK to any agency” stated Molly Myers, Communications Manager for Spokane Transit.

“This new map offers everyone a convenient pocket-sized reference for discovering Spokane by public transportation,” announced Wood. “This guide will help existing passengers explore all the services available to them and help convince new riders to consider Spokane Transit as an option to the high cost of commuting by car. Spokane Transit is committed to providing the highest-quality passenger information to its customers and this guide is just another example of that.”
