SANTA BARBARA, CA (22 March, 2007)

Santa Barbara-based CHK America, specializing in the visual communication of transportation data and wayfinding, has been hired by the City of West Hollywood to redesign their CityLine/DayLine System Map and Guide. That announcement was made today by Rick Wood, President and CEO, CHK America.

This 1.9 square mile city contains an estimated population of 36,732, with about 16,000 incoming daily commuters. This can lead to congested roads, sidewalks and businesses. West Hollywood’s Public Transportation staff knows how important multimodal mobility is to the city’s future. Providing passengers with clear concise passenger information is one important step toward improving overall quality. By developing a new system map West Hollywood has taken a significant step in that direction.

“West Hollywood is a very active community and we hope that the work we are doing together will increase the use of their excellent public transportation system by residents and visitors alike.” Says Rick Wood, President & CEO, CHK America.

CHK America has also recently been awarded Passenger Information Solution and Wayfinding projects for Chicago Regional Transit Authority, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, Greater Vancouver Transportation Authority, Austin Capital Metro, Metrolink Commuter Rail and Oahu Transit Services.

Established in September 1999, CHK America provides passenger information and wayfinding solutions to the public transportation industry. CHK America, a division of United Kingdom based Cook, Hammond and Kell, was established to expand the reach of its parent company’s products across the US. CHK’s products and services have been distributed extensively across Europe for over 140 years.
