SANTA BARBARA, CA (24 August 2008)

CHK America, specialists in the visual communication of transportation data, has been selected via an internationally conducted competitive bidding process by Chicago Regional Transportation Authority to design interagency passenger information for Chicagoland’s primary public transportation agencies. These include the Chicago Transit Authority, Pace Suburban Bus and Metra Commuter Rail. That announcement was made today by Frederick A. Wood, President and CEO, CHK America.

CHK America’s in-house design, production and editorial experts will design the interagency information for the RTA. The RTA is a special purpose unit of local government and a municipal corporation of the state of Illinois. From the time of its creation, the RTA’s mission has been to ensure financially sound, comprehensive and coordinated public transportation for northeastern Illinois.

“With extensive public transportation services in the Chicago area, this project will provide greatly improved connectivity information to riders who need to transfer from one service to another,” explains Wood. “Chicago has a rich history in the public transportation industry and providing this level of information at all locations where CTA, Pace and Metra intersect services will provide residents and visitors to the greater Chicago area with an effective an clear resource for using one of the country’s most extensive transit systems.
