Santa Barbara-based CHK America, specialists in the visual communication of transportation data and wayfinding, has been hired by Metrolink, the operating division of the Southern California Regional Rail Authority to redesign their timetables and passenger information material. That announcement was made today by Frederick A. Wood, President and CEO, CHK America.

Following a competitive bidding process, CHK America was selected to design platform and timetable information for Metrolink’s 54 stations covering 5 counties from Ventura south to Orange County and east to San Bernardino County. Metrolink runs 141 trains daily covering 416 route miles and averaging 40,000 one-way weekday trips.

“Metrolink is a premier regional rail system that includes commuter and other passenger services providing reliable transportation and mobility for a significant portion of Southern California,” explains Wood. “We’re excited to have been selected by Metrolink to develop detailed passenger information products as part of an ongoing effort to improve their customer service. It is a significant step by one of the fastest growing commuter rail systems in the nation to enhance the ease of mobility throughout the region.”

CHK America has also recently been awarded Passenger Information Solution and Wayfinding projects for Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Chicago Regional Transit Authority, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, Greater Vancouver Transportation Authority, Nashville MTA, Santa Barbara MTD and several others.
