Santa Barbara, CA (February 2009)

CHK America has been awarded a new contract to design the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) system map, to bring it inline with the style and functionality of the agency’s current passenger information including at-stop panels, station specific panels and all bus stops serviced by Metro Rail Stations.

Due to the complexity and enormity of the entire WMATA service area, CHK America will divide the information into two separate System Maps. Both maps will feature on one half a detailed overview of downtown District of Columbia area information; with the remaining half of the panels displaying Virginia and Maryland service information provided by WMATA and other transit agencies in those states.

The new contract was awarded to CHK following its initial contract to develop and design of stop specific map and service information for over 800 bus stops for Metrobus in WMATA’s 1500 square mile service area; and the design 125 station mezzanine maps and service information guides for Metrorail.

WMATA is the fourth largest transit agency in the USA.
